Never too early

13 August, 2013

If you're planning on making homemade gifts, or you're a knitter or crocheter who's going to be attending craft fairs, it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas!

Every year I consider making my own Christmas cards, and then leave it far too late and don't get round to it. It's not got to the point where I instead buy Christmas cards in the January sales and simply store them away until December (although we won't mention the first year I did this, where I bought the cards and then forgot about them the following Christmas).

This blog post was mostly inspired by a Treasury I found, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

This Treasury has plenty to help you get started as it contains knitting and crochet patterns to download and supplies such as ribbon and bells to decorate your creations.

Have a nice evening!

Japan Treasury

29 April, 2013

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you've all had a nice day, including those of you who went back to work after the weekend.

One of my latin quote postcards was featured in a Treasury, which of course then made me go and see what other Treasuries are around at the moment. There's some very beautiful ones with lots of spring themes, but my eye was caught by Big In Japan, a Treasury all about Japanese things.

If these two images strike a chord with you then definitely go and look at the rest of the Treasury! You'll love it.

Have a nice evening everyone!

Books and Writings

26 March, 2013

I must admit, I was sitting here on my bed, struggling desperately to think of something to write about for my blog post today. I decided to browse through some of my favourites for inspiration, so I logged off Creative Classics and swapped to The Bibliophile and before I'd even got to my favourites on that account I saw that one of my vintage books had been included in a Treasury!

The theme is Books and Writings and features both vintage books and notebooks and some very cool hieroglyph works as well.

That's my book there! I've actually got some more that are waiting to be photographed, it's difficult when you have no decent weather to take photos in.

Have a nice evening everyone, I'm off to look for Wordless Wednesday inspiration!

Treasury and Listing!

29 January, 2012

Bit of a short post today because I'm being very naughty and having a little lazy day today. If I ever get dressed it will be so I can go and buy cheesecake from a shop XD

Despite being lazy though I've just listed a new book, The Travellers Handbook to Paris from 1937!

Along with the usual itineraries one gets in these travel guides it all has thirteen maps and a whole load of adverts for shops and hotels one could visit in 1930's Paris. What makes this book special to me though is it's date; 1937. Two years later the second world war broke out and in 1940 the Germans occupied Paris. How many of the shops and hotels, immortalised in these pages, were still around by the time the war ended?

I've also been included in a Treasury this week! Everything Must Go features my vintage book "The Romance of Modern Electricity", thanks to LinniR for including me!

Have a nice week everyone!
