20 July, 2013

On Thursday this blog hit the 10k views mark! I feel like it hasn't been that long since I was celebrating 7k views.

So to celebrate I've added a coupon code to TheBibliophile! Use code 10KVIEWS at the checkout to get 10% off purchases! This code is valid until 27th July (next Saturday).

For those who haven't used Etsy before, you can only use the code in TheBibliophile, you cannot use it in another Etsy shop.

Have a nice day everyone!

Books and Writings

26 March, 2013

I must admit, I was sitting here on my bed, struggling desperately to think of something to write about for my blog post today. I decided to browse through some of my favourites for inspiration, so I logged off Creative Classics and swapped to The Bibliophile and before I'd even got to my favourites on that account I saw that one of my vintage books had been included in a Treasury!

The theme is Books and Writings and features both vintage books and notebooks and some very cool hieroglyph works as well.

The Republic of Plato by TheBibliophile

That's my book there! I've actually got some more that are waiting to be photographed, it's difficult when you have no decent weather to take photos in.

Have a nice evening everyone, I'm off to look for Wordless Wednesday inspiration!

Feeling Better!

10 February, 2013

My cold is feeling much better! Still felt rather ropey yesterday, but today my throat is no longer sore and I don't feel randomly cold! To celebrate I've made cookies, but I don't have a photo of them as it's been dark and rainy all day so the light hasn't been good enough for photos.

I'm very glad I'm better today as I've had lots of bits and pieces to do. I've cleared out loads of random bits of paper, baked the aforementioned cookies, and best of all I have two orders to send out from Etsy! The Bibliophile sold one of my favourite books, a 19th century German book with the most gorgeous gothic typeface, while Creative Classics sold four of my new postcards!

That's just one of the postcards I have in my shop. So I need to package everything and address it and get it ready to be posted out tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone!

New Books!

29 July, 2012

I know the Olympics are on and I know my country, and the city I live in, is the host. But I just can't bring myself to get particularly excited about it. On the plus side this means I won't be repeating my Euro 2012 blogging but with Olympic countries so you're all spared that!

Instead today I'm going to dedicate a bit of time to my own Etsy shop. I'm getting some more books listed on The Bibliophile, including these two beauties last week!

This is one of my new favourites simply because of the gorgeous gilt illumination on the front. It's a collection of French poems translated into English and was published in 1893. Frankly I don't think we do book covers properly anymore.

This one is less pretty on the front, but still quite lovely inside. It's a music tuition book written by the composer WS Rockstro. It once belonged to an RAF Bandmaster, if the inside dedication is to be believed, and clearly has a bit of a proud history behind it.

Keep an eye on The Bibliophile to see what else I've got!

Have a good weekend everyone!
